The club holds a ride at least one a year that departs near the entrance to Hueco Tanks State Park and Historic Site. The group meets about 1 mile before the park entrance along the side of State Park Road where an arroyo or wash crosses. Pull off of the road and park where you see cyclists gathering.
To get to the park and ride meeting place from El Paso travel east on Montana Avenue (US highways 62 and 180) to State Park Road (also known as Ranch Road 2775 and Hueco Tanks Road). State Park Road is approximately 12 miles east of the intersection of Montana and Loop 375. Turn north (left) on State Park Rd and travel about 5 miles to the meeting spot. If you go to the park entrance you have gone too far.
The number of vehicles allowed to enter the park is limited and reservations are required to take a car in. You do not need to make a reservation with the park to go on the ride. You only need to make a reservation if you want to take your car into the park before or after the ride. If you would like to take your car into the park, call the park headquarters at (915) 857-1135 or (800) 792-1112 (option 3) to make a reservation.
